VisualAid
VisualAid is our flagship application designed to dismantle digital barriers for visually and auditory impaired communities in Uganda. By integrating our advanced speech-to-text and text-to-speech technology, VisualAid provides real-time translation and transcription services entirely in local dialects.
For visually impaired users, the app can read aloud written content in natural, authentic Ugandan voices. For hearing-impaired users, it provides accurate, real-time transcription of spoken mother-tongue languages into text.
VoTexUg TTS Dataset
A large scale emotional multilingual TTS dataset comprising of 68 hours of speech across 6 Ugandan languages, built to power authentic African voice AI.
Curated by researchers from Soroti University and funded by SUNRIF, covering English, Lusoga, Luganda, Runyankole, Acholi and Ateso.
